If you’ve ever dreamed of photos that feel straight out of a storybook, wind in your hair and your horse glowing in the golden light, this one’s for you. My horse photo sessions are designed to celebrate that bond between you and your horse while capturing the magic of the Pacific Northwest.
This gallery features one of my favorite equestrian shoots in the Columbia River Gorge. Dramatic cliffs, endless light, and a bond between girl and horse that made my heart ache in the best way. It was one of those evenings where everything just clicked.
If you’d like to book your own horse photo session in the Portland, Oregon or Vancouver, Washington area, you can reach out through my contact form.
Horse sessions are different from anything else I photograph. They are not rushed, they are not stiff or overly posed. They are about trust, patience, and movement. Horses have personalities, moods, and opinions, and I love that. I plan these sessions around your horse’s comfort first because that’s when we get those soulful, connected shots that feel effortless.
When you book with me, I handle all the logistics, including parking, timing, and where we will walk or ride. All you need to do is show up with your horse, your outfit, and your sense of adventure.
Here are a few things that can make your shoot go smoothly and beautifully:
• Bring snacks or treats for your horse. Bribery works wonders.
• Pack a small brush or wipes to keep your horse’s coat picture-perfect.
• Bring a small stool to help you on and off easily.
• Choose a long, dramatic dress that drapes beautifully when you are riding.
• Wear comfy shoes for walking between spots. Barefoot looks amazing later.
I take care of everything else, including timing, light, posing, and making sure both you and your horse feel calm and confident through the entire process.
All of my horse sessions take place in breathtaking, private, and carefully scouted locations throughout the Portland, Oregon and Vancouver, Washington area. These are places with wide open fields, glowing light, and peaceful views where horses can relax and move naturally.
Every location is handpicked and exclusive to my clients. I do not share exact spots publicly, and that is part of what makes each session one-of-a-kind.
If you would love a session like this in 2026, my schedule opens in March for summer and fall shoots. I only take a limited number of equestrian sessions each year to keep the experience relaxed and personal.
